Trakt.tv – Scrobble & sync from your media center.

I recently discovered Trakt.tv while going through some troubleshooting with some Kodi add-ons and I like it. It saved me a lot of time with rebuilding some of my data.

What is Trakt?

Trakt is a platform that primarily keeps track of TV shows and movies you watch. It integrates with your media center or home theater PC to enable scrobbling, so everything is automatic.

We also make it easy to find where to watch movies and TV shows on hundreds of streaming sources such as Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and iTunes. Check out the complete feature list.

Trakt is free to use.

Kodi Scrobbler + Sync Plugin

The Trakt.tv Kodi plugin runs in the background of the Kodi media center and automatically scrobbles what you’re watching back to Trakt.tv. The plugin also supports 2 way sync to keep your watched history and collection in sync with Trakt.tv and your other connected devices. You can rate movies and episodes after watching them too.

What is scrobbling?

Scrobbling simply means automatically tracking what you’re watching. Instead of checking in from your phone of the website, this plugin runs in the background and automatically scrobbles back to Trakt.tv while you enjoy watching your media.

Why use Trakt.tv?

Trakt.tv can sync your libraries between multiple devices and has integration in some popular Kodi add-ons to make managing your library within these add-ons a lot faster (especially when a add-on dies and you have to migrate to a new fork).

It can also help you save your library if you have just one Kodi database and it gets lost or deleted.

The website looks very nice and provides trending / popular tv shows and movie lists. They also provide a calendar to keep track of season premieres or air dates.
