The second season of NBC’s Shades of Blue is starting this week. While the series might not be known to the large audience and has not received the highest ratings I still enjoyed it.
Don’t be alarmed by the casting of Jennifer Lopez, after the first episode I still didn’t recognise her and her acting has improved since Anaconda 😉
Season 1 and 2 have both 13 episodes with a runtime of about 40 minutes. I have no idea how IMDB’s rating formula gives this show a 6,9. The first 5 episodes get a 7+ in the rating and the second half of the first season scores a 8+.
Jennifer Lopez stars as sexy New York detective and single mother Harlee Santos, who fell in with a tight-knit group of dirty cops, taking bribes and protection money that she uses to provide the best life for her honest, talented daughter. But when she’s trapped by the FBI and forced to inform on her own “brothers,” she’ll have to walk the fine line between love, loyalty, honor and betrayal, and try to keep it together for her daughter’s future.
I just watched the opener of season two and i must say wow. The entire story is turned around now and new dynamics have stept in. This is very promising for the rest of the season.
